• Mechanical Workshop

Each test conducted in the vacuum tanks and the two plasma wind tunnels requires individual equipment with mechanical parts. In order to construct these as the need arises, the institute has its own workshop with experienced specialists. A lot of experience is needed to fashion the complex and minute parts made of hard to handle materials such as stainless steel, copper and especially refractory metals such as tungsten, molybdenum tantalum as well as high-temperature ceramic materials.

• Electronic Workshop

The second institute workshop takes care of the work related to electronics and precision mechanics for the experiments in the labs as well as for numerous flight experiments. The equipment here includes among other things a CNC metal cutting and engraving machine and all the necessary equipment for the development of complex electronic switches.
Furthermore, any kind of data processing equipment will be re-animated after system crashes or other typical hardware problems
